Four Generations of Nespers

Imogen and I have just returned from Atlanta, where we visited with her Great-Grandparents, Great Aunt Linda, Great Uncle Jeff, Grandpa, Aunt Emma and furry first cousin (once removed) Chelsea. The pictures are worth a thousand words, and capture just some of the warm memories we'll all have of the trip.

Alley cats

This morning, Imogen discovered that she can imitate an alley cat. She even showed me how.

Imogen's First Trip

On the plane to Napa for Johno and Sachiko's wedding - Imogen's first trip on an airplane. She was a perfect angel, not a peep the entire flight!

On the ground, now that was a different story. Imogen was a little under the weather, so she was very cranky and slept a lot! Here's breakfast on Saturday morning - on the floor of our hotel room, whispering while Imogen slept.

Imogen and Aunt Emma - reunited!!

Imogen really enjoyed meeting her Uncle Anders!

Imogen was kind enough to remain silent during the ceremony; the reception, not so much.

But the next morning, Imogen was happy, for a few minutes at least. She sure enjoys this lavender lamb that Nana got for her!

Ahhh, home again with her pals!

La La La La La La...

Renee and I dressed Declan, Imogen and Micah as Smurfs for their first Halloween.

We also attempted an artistic photoshoot, in which we tried to recreate a Smurf scene. The true accomplishment was getting three babies dressed, fed, happy and awake for a photo.

Our subjects begin to get restless...

And we're done!

More videos!

Imogen continues to chat with us, as well as to watch her right fist and spin the toys on her chair. Here we are yesterday.

Visit from the Smith family

We had a blast with the Smith family. Family resemblance much?

We hiked to the top of Multnomah Falls. It was beautiful, and we learned the important lesson that just because a trail is paved doesn't mean it is appropriate for a stroller. Fortunately we had two teenage athletes to push Imogen straight uphill 1.2 miles.

Wyatt, Hayden, Kenai, Imogen and me at the beginning of the hike.

Meeting (Great!) Aunt Becky.

The two best cousin/mannies a girl could ask for. Imogen found Wyatt and Hayden incredibly entertaining as well as calming when she was tired.

I'm much more alert these days

Imogen has been discovering the world around her... including herself! She spends a lot of time checking herself out in the mirror.

Watching her car seat toys...

She's also watching us (and the camera) closely.

Starting to nap in her crib.

Imogen attracted a lot of attention as the youngest "walker" at the Cascades AIDS Walk last weekend.

A final shot with Grandpa.

A handful of September pics

Urban hiking in Forest Park. One of the first times Imogen tolerated the Bjorn!

Our companions, Jen and Wyatt.

Mike and Jen, two of our closest friends.

Lunch on the trail.

Imogen is taking one bottle a day from Dad.

Friday nights have a different tone these days.

Imogen meets Grandpa

Grandpa and Shiela came from Madison to meet Imogen! They bonded over coffee on the deck.

We also made a trip to the Rose Garden, including a hike in Forest Park.
And then a trip with Dr. Nesper to the Anthropology section of Powells.
Aunt Emma phoned from Zambia. First international phone call!

And Mom's favorite - Saturday mornings at Mt. Tabor.
