Birthday hike!

On Imogen's actual birthday, we took a family hike to Timothy Lake, on the back side of Mount Hood. It was a beautiful day, and a beautiful hike, made all the more fun by the chance to dip our toes into the lake.

Birthday party

We celebrated Imogen's first birthday with our Portland friends and their kids. Imogen, Micah and Declan were born within three days of each other, so a 'triplet' party was in order.

Micah and Imogen head out to their party.

Imogen loved playing in the pool of balls.

With Lila, Naomi's older sister. Imogen thinks Lila is fantastic.

So many kids!

With Lila again.

With Aunie Jen

Imogen loved the coleslaw - what a mess!

With Declan and Micah waiting for birthday cake. Imogen is clapping with excitement.

And for those left wanting more... here are some pics our friend Sheryl took of the day:

How I Started Off My First Birthday

I'm a big girl, so I started the day off standing in my crib, waiting for my parents to get up!

July 4th with cousins

Our last stop of the trip was the Newells of Paulina. We spent a fun couple of days having cousin-time, including the 4th of July Parade. Imogen loves watching her cousins, and they are wonderful to her!

Like Mother, Like Daughter

One of the treats of our Michigan trip was visiting with the Radlinski family. It had been far too long since we'd all seen each other.

Imogen and Claire - chatting as their mothers used to do for hours (long distance, at 10 cents a minute!)

Stacy and me and our girls. (No pics of Jake and Luke as they were having a blast at the beach for most of our visit).

The Cottage!

We spent a week at the Cottage in Grand Haven, eating sand, exploring the beach and mastering crawling in an non-baby-proof environment (Imogen) and eating, relaxing and sleeping when we could (Hanna and Matt).

Checking out sand for the first time.

And then immediately sucking her thumb.

One of the less safe toys at the cottage.

Oh, and one more thing. Nana wrote and assembled all of Aunt Emma's wedding invitations over two days. We helped assemble, but here she is in her sweat shop.

We kept them in the over so the humidity wouldn't ruin the envelope glue!
