January

It's been a busy couple of weeks! Here's Imogen just after the bath.

And watching the action while snuggling with Auntie Jen.

With best buds Micah and Declan. We like to call Imogen their triplet.

The only gal among our favorite guys.

And Finally, Christmas Day!

Christmas 2010 - Part 3: Christmas Eve in Evanston

On Christmas Eve, Imogen met Aunties Annie and Katie, Great Aunt Julie, cousins Karl and Tracey and her second cousin Hannah Marie. Then she stayed up late for Christmas Eve dinner with Nana, John Papa, Aunt Emma and Uncle Anders.

Yea for Em and Anders, who are now affianced!

Family portrait.

Christmas Eve feast.

Imogen sure loves Auntie Emma.

Great Aunt Julie. We look forward to spending more time with her family in Grand Haven next summer.

Second cousins meet!

Auntie Annie finally gets to snuggle Imogen.

Auntie Katie tells Imogen all about England and Near Eastern archaeology.

Christmas 2010 - Part 2: Madison, the Athens of the Midwest (Basecamp for Hanna's family)

Next stop: Madison! Imogen met (Great!) Grandmother as well as the Houstons, Bauers and Jon and Tammy. Imogen also got to spend more quality time with Grandpa and Shiela.

Thank you to the Houstons for hosting dinner so that everyone could meet Imogen!

Imogen with her first cousin (once removed :)) Holly!

Everyone was very excited to meet Imogen, including Gracie the retriever! She even got the first smile ever out of Gracie's brother Gus.

Great Grandmother Joan with Imogen and Hanna.

Imogen was the center of attention!

The Matriarchy continues!

Imogen with cousin Emily.

Imogen with her great aunt Ellen (who dreamed of Imogen 2 years ago, though her name in the dream was Michelle).

In the morning, we headed to Grandpa's. Imogen really likes music, and Grandpa plays the accordion - so it was a perfect match. Imogen loved hearing the songs Mom grew up singing in the bathtub, including her favorites: 16 Tons, Mama Tried, Kingston Town and Rickety Tickety Tin.

Imogen with her grandparents before we hit the road for the next leg of the journey - Evanston.

We had a wonderful time in Madison - Imogen got to meet so much family!!

Christmas 2010 (i.e. the Baby Road Show) - Part 1

We traveled to Chicago so that Imogen could spend her first Christmas with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and other family. We wanted to introduce her to many people, so we had an ambitious schedule, which we dubbed the "Baby Road Show."

The first stop on the trip was to spend the night with Aunt Tina, Uncle Donald and cousins Annika, Peter and TJ, all of whom were very excited to meet Imogen!

The next morning, we got to enjoy some quality time just hanging out around the house...

Next stop, we traveled to Northfield to spend the night with Mimi and Poppa. My friend Christina came by for dinner and to meet Imogen.

Mimi, Nana and Imogen - a great shot with both grandmothers!

Four Generations of Nespers

Imogen and I have just returned from Atlanta, where we visited with her Great-Grandparents, Great Aunt Linda, Great Uncle Jeff, Grandpa, Aunt Emma and furry first cousin (once removed) Chelsea. The pictures are worth a thousand words, and capture just some of the warm memories we'll all have of the trip.

Alley cats

This morning, Imogen discovered that she can imitate an alley cat. She even showed me how.

Imogen's First Trip

On the plane to Napa for Johno and Sachiko's wedding - Imogen's first trip on an airplane. She was a perfect angel, not a peep the entire flight!

On the ground, now that was a different story. Imogen was a little under the weather, so she was very cranky and slept a lot! Here's breakfast on Saturday morning - on the floor of our hotel room, whispering while Imogen slept.

Imogen and Aunt Emma - reunited!!

Imogen really enjoyed meeting her Uncle Anders!

Imogen was kind enough to remain silent during the ceremony; the reception, not so much.

But the next morning, Imogen was happy, for a few minutes at least. She sure enjoys this lavender lamb that Nana got for her!

Ahhh, home again with her pals!
